What’s the difference between rain shower and normal shower?

We have come to realise that not too many people understand the differences between the two very well, which is why we have prepared a little fun comparisons between the two for you .
Rain shower heads are a luxurious alternative to your run-of-the-mill normal shower. The heads are usually larger and hang directly overhead, simulating the experience of showering in the rain (which might actually be on your secret list of things to do). Here are several more differences.

1. Size
Rain shower heads (also known as rainheads) tend to be wider than your normal shower head.
As you now know, that’s because they hang directly over you and shower you more gently. Compare this to shower heads which sprays a concentrated stream of water directly at you.
That means you get a more luxurious, spa-like experience, but it also means the head needs to cover more area.
As such, you should take note of the increase in size and make an informed judgement whether your bathroom is able to accommodate the new shower head should you decide to proceed and go ahead with the change.
2. Width and Height
Yet, before you make the beeline for the rain shower head, you’ll want to be certain that you have enough room in your shower for it.
For one thing, rain shower heads cover a wider area than normal shower heads. If your bathtub is too small, you’ll run the risk of flooding your bathroom every single time you take a shower.
On top of that, most rain shower heads need to be fit horizontally, streaming water straight down (as opposed to a normal shower head, which sprays outwards) and you’ll likely have to buy some new hardware that lets you mount your new shower head at a 90 degree angle. That will lower your shower head some, so make sure you have ample room under the head to shower comfortably. Some also may need to be mounted from the ceiling.
3. Water Pressure
Many people worry that a rain shower head won’t be able to deliver the same kind of water pressure that their normal shower heads can. A gentle rain-like shower sounds great, but all the time?
It’s true – rain shower heads are different, but they can still deliver a high-enough pressure shower for you to feel clean. Many also come in adjustable and hand-held models, which allows you to take more control of your shower. So you shouldn’t let a fear of low water pressure affect your buying decision.
4. Price
The major sticking point for most people considering a rain shower head is price. And it’s true. They are more expensive than normal shower heads.
However, this could very well be worth the long-term investment, as many Singaporeans have testified to after they make the switch, and stick by it.
